Face Of The Day - 10 Minute Makeup Routine

I am a busy wife and mother, and sometimes there is just no time when your main job is taking care of others.  So, this is my fast go to look for when I am running out the door, but want to be presentable.

-  Garnier BB Cream For Oily to Combination Skin - Light/Medium
-  L'Oreal True Match Concealer - Light/Medium N4-5
-Maybelline Dark Spot Eraser - Brightener
-  Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder - Creamy Beige
-  Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush - Flush
-  Maybelline Color Tattoo - Bad To The Bronze (Lids Only)
-  Maybelline The Rocket Volume Express Mascara- Black (2 Coats)
-  Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick - Hooked On Pink

And there you have it!  I didn't even do my eyebrows, which I hate not doing, but I had to go.  Do you have a quick go to routine?  If not, try it out, and see what works best.  It's always good to have a quick go to look.

Beauty Tip Of The Week - 7 Steps To Healthier Hair

For many years, I had a very short pixie.  I didn't pay too much attention to the care of it, because it was healthy from being cut so often.  Plus, I wasn't using a lot of heat styling on it.  Since I started growing my hair out, I have been taking very good care of it.  I didn't want longer hair, if it had dead ends, got thin, or looked dull and lifeless.  These are all things that I do daily and weekly.  I can say that it has definitely helped the look and feel of my hair.

We put our hair through so much, day after day.  Coloring, washing, blow drying, straightening, curling, etc.  It's a lot of damage!  So, here are a few ways to minimize the suffering.

1.  Don't wash your hair everyday.  Washing strips the hair of it's natural, conditioning, oils.  Your own are so much better than any conditioner you apply.  Find a good dry shampoo to hold you over between washing, and go as long as you can.  I really like the batiste dry shampoo.  You can find it at Walgreens.  You will probably find that your hair looks better a day or two after washing.  I only wash my hair 2 or 3 times a week.  Also, be careful when brushing/combing your hair while it is wet.  It is most fragile, and prone to breakage when wet.  Use a wide tooth comb to get out any tangles, and be gentle!  Don't rip through your hair, like you are mad at it!

2.  All of the heat styling that we do is extremely damaging.  When possible, let your hair air dry.  If you do blow it out, use a heat protectant, and a cooler setting.  Straightening and curling irons get extremely hot as well.  Use these tools as little as possible.  If you can choose your heat setting, use a lower one.

3.  Take supplements.  Prenatal vitamins and biotin are good supplements for your hair.  It can strengthen follicles, and encourage hair growth.  Of course, check with your doctor before adding any supplements.

4.  Apply Hair Masks.  Once a week, I use a good hair mask.  You can leave it on for only 30 mins, or as I do, overnight.  Purchase one that is specific to your hair type and needs.  There are also many all natural options, with many ingredients that can be found in your own kitchen!

5.  Wear your hair down more often.  If you have hair that you typically pull back, try wearing it down more.  Hair clasps and holders, tend to pull and tug at the hair, making it prone to breakage.  If you do need to wear it up, choose accessories that are easier on the hair, such as coated ponytail holders, instead of rubber bands.  Another option that I wear a lot is headbands.  They will pull the hair back from your face, while keeping breakage to a minimum, if at all.

6.  Use quality products, formulated for your hair type.  Finding products formulated for your hair type is half the battle.  Next, look at the ingredients.  Try to use products without sulfates, parabens, and formaldehyde.  So many chemicals are used in beauty products, that this can be a hard find, but do a little research.  Your hair will thank you!

7.  Get regular trims.  Who wants long hair if it is damaged, split, and looks frail?  Not me!!  Getting regular trims is very important.  It keeps your hair healthier and more manageable.  Split ends will keep on splitting if not trimmed, which leads to dull, lifeless hair.

Quote Of The Week

Let me tell you something - being thought of as a beautiful woman has spared me nothing in life.  No heartache, no trouble.  Love has been difficult.  Beauty is essentially meaningless, and it is always transitory.  - Halle Berry

Why Take Care Of Yourself?

Your a busy wife, and mother.  Every day you have a long list to try to accomplish.  You run from task to task, taking care of your family.  You have a stable marriage.  You aren't dating or in the bar scene.  Your husband's love goes beyond the exterior.  Your kids just want a mom who is nurturing and dependable.  So, why is it so important to take care of yourself at this stage of your life?  You have bigger priorities, right?

Ask yourself this, and be honest....how do you feel about yourself?  How do you feel doing physical activities?  Do you avoid them all together?  How do you feel when you see yourself naked?  How do you feel when you go shopping for new clothes, or do you avoid that all together, because you figure what's the point?  How do you feel undressing in front of your husband?  Do you put yourself down in front of your kids?  These may be things that you don't discuss with your best friend, but you need to at least have the discussion with yourself.  If you are feeling unhappy and insecure about any of these things, it's time to change!

Years ago, when you thought about your future, what did you see?  Have you lived up to that vision?  Circumstances and choices, may change our path in life, but how did you see yourself?  Are you the person you envisioned?  Life takes it's toll, and what was once our future is now our present.  Before you know it, you can morph into this woman that you no longer recognize.  Women are typically unselfish, and with that comes neglecting ourselves, in order to fulfill others needs.  But don't you think that being less of what we are, takes away from our loved ones?  I know what it is like to live a life that I never envisioned, and become the person I never thought I would be.  I felt horrible...inside and out.  I can tell you for sure, that my family wasn't getting the best of me, because I wasn't at my best.  I was tired, beat down, ashamed, depressed, and lonely in many ways.  I didn't even realize how bad it had gotten, until I was out from under it.  It is amazing what we can get used to.

When I was in the midsts of going through hard times, my husband would make me get out of the house for some me time.  I really didn't want to go.  I felt guilty for leaving them on a day that we could all be together.  I was exhausted and just wanted to nap.  I didn't have any family or friends living near by to do anything with.  He would say "you have to get out of here for awhile.  Now go, or I'm gonna kick you out, if I have to!"  I usually didn't do much of anything.....went to a bookstore, the mall, or whatever, but it helped.  After a few hours, I came home refreshed.  I had more energy, and less stress.  I was better equipped to handle my colicky baby or the behavior problems he had until he was 3.  I was more engaging with my husband, and had the energy to pay attention to him.  I'm thankful that he recognized what I needed, and gave it to me.  It was then that I understood the importance of taking care of myself.  It was a process.  I worked very hard for weight loss.  I worked very hard to get back to the point of caring for myself, like I once had.  I realized that when I felt better about myself, people could see that.  They reacted more positively towards me.  They could recognize my contentment and feelings of self worth.  I wanted to be that person for my family, and myself.  I wanted to be the wife, that my husband could be proud of.  I wanted to be the mom, that my son could look up to and say "one day I'm going to have a wife as special as my mommy."  I knew they deserved that from me.  If you happen to have a daughter, what a role model you are to her!  You are her first impression of what a woman should be, and what she will likely become in the future.  Give her a great example to admire and become.

If you feel in any way the way that I did, it's time for a change.  It's time to take the time to make yourself a priority.  It's time to feel confident when you walk in a room.  It's time to take yourself off the back burner.  It won't happen overnight.  That's just not realistic.  It's a process, a journey.  You'll have set backs, everyone does.  But if you want to have the life you deserve, you'll brush yourself off, and get right back to it.

So, where do you start?  After having a heart to heart with yourself, make an appointment.  You wouldn't let your kids miss a doctor's appointment, so don't let yourself either.  Make an appointment several times a week for health and fitness.  Schedule it.  If it means, you have to get up an hour earlier, then that's what it means.  If it means, you take turns on driving the kids for after school activities with another mother, then that's what it means.  If it means your husband has to do some things around the house, or help out with the kids....well, it's his house and they are his kids just as much as they are yours!  Tell your family how you feel, and what you need.  They aren't mind readers.

At first, it will be an adjustment.  You may get some resistance...or a lot.  Stick to your guns, and before you know it, it will just be a routine that everyone is accustom to.  Once you start achieving your goals, slowly but surely, so many things will fall into place.  You will recognize yourself saying and doing things that you haven't done in years.  You will start becoming the woman you had always envisioned, and the woman your family deserves.

FOTD

I have a lot of errand running to do today, so I wanted something easy.  Threw on a hat and a bold lip!
Rimmel Stay Glossy - Timeless Allure 540

Hope everyone is having a great week!!

Recipe Of The Week - Cranberry-Apple Cider

I thought this would be a great fall recipe, especially if you are having any parties.  Great for a school function, as well!

Ingredients
-  6 inch sticks of cinnamon, broken
-  1 teaspoon allspice
-  4 cups apple cider or apple juice (Use processed cider from the grocery shelf.  Unprocessed cider from the refrigerated section will separate and appear curdled, when heated.)
-  4 cups low calorie cranberry juice cocktail
- 1/4 cup no calorie, heat stable, granulated sugar substitute.  (you can use splenda, but I prefer a natural sugar alternative, like stevia or trivia)
-  Lemon slices (optional)

For spice bag, cut a 6 or 8 inch square from a double thickness cotton cheesecloth.  Place cinnamon and allspice, in center of cheesecloth square.  Bring cheesecloth corners together, and tie together with a clean cotton string.

In a 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 quart slow cooker combine apple cider, cranberry juice, and sugar substitute.  Add spice bag to cider mixture in cooker.

Cover and cook on low hear setting for 5 -7 hours, or on high heat for 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours.  Discard the spice bag.  Ladle cider into cups.  If desired, float a lemon slice in each cup.

Health Tip Of The Week - The Benefits Of Weight Training

I have always weight trained.  Even when I was starting out at 11/12 years old, I had a few sets of dumbbells.  Now, I have my own gym in my home, and I have far more weight equipment than cardio.  I do both, but I'd take 2 hours of weight training, over 30 minutes of cardio, any day!  Many women don't feel this way though.  I think they have a misunderstanding of exactly what weight training will do for their body and it's health benefits.  They see it as masculine or that they will end up too big.  So, instead they just hop on a treadmill, elliptical or stepper, and mindlessly go through the motions, because that's what they see most women doing at the gym.  I understand that the weight room can be intimidating.  Lots of big, sweaty, grunting men doesn't sound or look inviting to me either. When I worked at a gym, there were no women there, unless I took them there to train.  I never saw them go over on their own.  If they did weight train, it was in a different section that had nautilus machines, and I rarely even saw that!

So first, let's talk about the benefits for women who weight train....

-  You Will Lose Body Fat - Most women believe that in order to lose weight, they have to only do cardio.  This couldn't be farther from the truth!  The more muscle you build, the higher your RMR (resting metabolic rate).  That means, even when you aren't moving, you are burning more calories.  Generally, for each pound of muscle you gain, your body will burn 35 - 50 more calories per day, and that can start to add up!

-  You Will Gain Strength, Not Bulk - Women have 10 to 30 times less of the hormones that cause muscle hypertrophy, so you will define and lean out, not bulk up.

-  Decreased Risk Of Osteoporosis - Research has found that weight training, can increase bone density by 13% in 6 months.  Along with calcium, this is your best defense for osteoporosis.  I had a client with severe osteoporosis.  Weight training is all we did in the gym, and it definitely helped her in her daily activities, and she believed it prolonged her life, as well.

-  Improved Athletic Performance - Research shows that weight training improves overall performance, as well as reducing the risk of injury.

-  Improves Physical Strength - Research shows that women who perform moderate weight training can increase their strength by 30 - 50%.  Increased strength means better performance with everyday chores and activities.

-  Lower Risk Of Injury, Arthritis, and Back Pain - Along with building stronger muscles, weight training also builds stronger connective tissues and stabilizes joints, which helps prevent injuries.

-  Lower Risk Of Heart Disease - Research shows weight training improves cardiovascular condition, by lowering blood pressure, lowering LDL (bad) cholesterol, and increase HDL (good) cholesterol.

-  Reduce Risk Of Diabetes - Research shows that weight training can improve the way the body processes sugar, which can reduce the risk of diabetes.  Studies show that with regular training, glucose utilization can increase by 23% in 4 months.

-  It's NEVER Too Late - Women in their 70's and 80's have shown to increase their strength with weight training, and studies show gains can happen at any age.

-  Fight Depression & Improve Attitude - A recent Harvard study shows that after 10 weeks of weight training, depression symptoms decreased more than counseling.  Women often report feeling more confident and capable, which helps fight depression.

If you have always been off put by the idea of lifting weights, I hope you give it a chance.  It will greatly improved your strength, physical appearance, and confidence.  Physical strength and understanding your abilities, will ultimately transcend into all areas of your life.  I've seen it happen, and I have experienced it myself.  So, don't let the guys hog all the free weights!  You have just as much right to be there as they do!  Don't allow yourself to be intimidated.  If you are new to weight training, I definitely recommend spending some time with a trainer.  There are a lot of ways to weight train, depending on your goals.  You need to have an understanding of what exercises, work what muscles.  Most importantly, you need to learn proper form.  Without proper form, you could end up injuring yourself, and at the very least, you won't get the results you are looking for.  Form Is Everything, so take the time to learn it.

FOTD - Fall Look

Two of these products, I just bought.  The eye palette and the lip duo.  This was my first time using them.  I have been looking for this eye palette for months, and had given up on finding it.  My mom found it, and didn't even know I was looking for it.  It was on a bottom shelf for half off.  I believe this lip duo is new to the line.  This is the first I have seen or heard of it. I was highly impressed with both products!

EYES

Maybelline Color Tattoo - Barely Branded
Wet N Wild Coloricon 8 Pan Palette - Nude Awakening (Limited Edition)
Jordana 12 Hour Made To Last Liquid Eyeliner Pencil - 02 Espresso Last
Cover Girl Lash Blast Luxe Mascara - Black
Maybelline The Rocket Mascara- Black

First, I applied the color tattoo all over my lids for a base.  This will keep your color lasting and not creasing.  It also makes the color more vibrant.  Next, I applied the first eyelid color (2nd down on left side) to my lid, using a flat shadow brush.  This brush allows you to pack on the color.  Using more of a tapping motion, as opposed to a swiping motion.  I used the 1st crease color (3rd down on left side) as  my crease color.  I used a crease brush, starting at the outer corner, and blending towards the inner corner.  Then, I used the 2nd eyelid color (2nd down on the right side) on the outer third of the crease.  I used a tapered crease brush to apply, and then used a blending brush to blend it all out.  I spent a lot of time blending the lines of this color.  When blending, blend out and up toward the browbone.  Lastly, I used the first browbone color, under the brow from the arch to the end, and in the inner corner.   I applied the eyeliner to my top and bottom lash line, as well as my waterline.  I used 3 coats of the cover girl mascara and 1 coat of the maybelline on the top lashes.  I also used 1 coat of the maybelline on the bottom.

Face Of The Day - Soft Eye & Pink Lip

I was meeting my husband for a midweek lunch date.  He likes my "light makeup," as he calls it.  That means my pinks and/or purples.  He hates anything darker than a medium pink lip, so this is what I came up with.  I prefer a more dramatic look, but sometimes you gotta make your guy happy.  I had at least 30 minutes less than usual to get ready, so I didn't do all the things I usually do.  No contour or highlight.  I didn't curl my lashes either.  I only used one blush, when I typically use two.  I even left with damp hair, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do :)

Face

Cover Girl Clean Whipped Foundation
Revlon Photoready Concealer
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer - Neutral
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder
NYX Blush - Amber
Revlon Lip Butter - Cotton Candy 045

Eyes

Maybelline Color Tattoo - Barely Branded (Lid to Crease)
The Balm Nude 'Tude Palette
-Standoffish (light shimmery pink) Lid
-  Sultry (medium matte brown) Crease
-  Sexy (dark burgundy/plum) Outer V
-  Sassy (shimmery white) Inner Corner
Matte White (not from the palette) brow bone
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil - 1999 (plum) Top & Bottom Lash Line
Cover Girl Lash Blast Luxe - Black (3 Coats) Top Lashes
Maybelline The Rocket Mascara  (1 coat) Top & Bottom Lashes

This is everything I used.  I love this palette, but if you don't have it, I put the colors of the shadows in parenthesis, so you can use whatever you already have.  This is a soft day look, and these colors will flatter most.  If you do this look for yourself, please send me a photo on fb or twitter.  I would love to see it!  Hope you are having a great week!!

My Top Ten Products Under $10

Cover Girl Clean Whipped Creme Foundation

I bought this foundation last month, and I have wore it every day since.  Light weight, medium to full, coverage, natural finish.  Good for all skin types.

Maybelline Dark Spot Eraser - Brightener

My favorite brightener, EVER!  Light weight, and long wearing.
Brightens up those under eyes quickly and effortlessly.  Love the glow it gives!

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

I have oily skin.  It was super oily this summer, so I am always looking for something to keep the shine down.  This one does a great job without looking cakey, like many powders can.  I've been using it for a long time.

Milani Color Statement Lipstick

I have talked about these before, but they are great.  Nice selection, opaque color,  six finishes, and paraben free.  Can't go wrong!

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick

Another one I have talked about.  I own several, and I just recently started purchasing these.  They are so creamy and smooth.  Very comfortable and moisturizing on the lips.  Available in 84 shades, and 4 finishes.

Batiste Dry Shampoo

I listed this as my September favorite.  I use it every single week.  It is super volumizing, and controls oily scalp.  It leaves hair with a nice smell as well.  They have several different varieties.  I love the one for brunettes, because it doesn't leave that white residue that so many dry shampoos leave.  I have only seen this at my Walgreens, and occasionally TJ Maxx.

Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash

I have sensitive skin, to put it mildly.  So, it was nice to find something that is super gentle, can easily be found, and has a great price.  I have tried everything from the Simple line, and I have liked them all.

Maybelline Define-A-Brow

I haven't tried a lot of brow pencils, because I really like this one.  I see no reason to change, unless it is for a review.  These work well, are easy to apply, and can be found at pretty much any drug or discount store.  Great price, as well!

Clean & Clear Persa Gel 10

Other than a  long time ago, when I was on a new medication, I have never really had an acne problem.  Just an occasional pimple here and there.  If I do feel something coming, I immediately apply this after my nightly routine.  By the next mooring, the pimple will be close to gone.  I love this stuff!!
Live Love Dew Lip Dew

I just posted a review on these, and enjoyed them so much, that I had to include them!  These are a great year round tinted lip balm, that is all natural.  They offer 4 colors, and one shea that is clear.  I wear the colors with a bare face or makeup.  I love the shea dew before bed, and before I apply my lipstick.  Your lips will stay hydrated and glossy.  One of a kind product!

Review - Live Love Dew Lip Dew & Lip Scrub

I was happy to try these lip dews and lip scrub, because I have always suffered from chapped or dry lips, especially in the winter months.  I have tried many products over the years, and these are fabulous!

First of all, these are natural products with no chemicals.  There are four colors available, Sundewed, Dew Love Pink, Black Cherry, and Plum Wine.  These are tinted moisturizers.  The color in the tube appears darker than it does once applied. You will get a natural looking, wash of color, that is extremely moisturizing and comfortable, but has the shine of a gloss.  Unlike chapsticks, this isn't waxy at all.  There is also a Natural Shea Lip Dew, which provides the same benefits, with shine only.  The Lip Dews that I tested were flavor free, but you can choose a flavor.  Available choices are, all natural peppermint essential oil, coconut and vanilla icing flavoring.  All flavorings are alcohol free, phthalate free, gluten free, and formaldehyde free.

Natural Shea Lip Dew
No color, just moisture.

Sundewed Tinted Lip Dew
Light Bronze Color

Dew Love Pink Tinted Lip Dew
Light Pink Color

Black Cherry Tinted Lip Dew
Medium Pink Color

Plum Wine Tinted Lip Dew
Plum Color

These Lip Dews look great with a full face of makeup or no makeup at all.  If you want the bolder look of a lipstick, I would apply the Natural Shea underneath.  I also wear this one to bed, after my nightly skin care routine.

Before applying these Lip Dews, I used the Black Cherry Lip Sugar Scrub.  Your lips will be exfoliated and immediately softer.  Ingredients include shea, jojoba oil, palm oil, pomegranate, and organic sugar.  The black cherry flavoring is also organic, and it smells like a fresh bowl of cherries!

If you have any questions, or would like to place an order, go to www.livelovedew.com.  You will find an online catalog of all their products.

Face Of The Day

Last week, The Balm had an online sale (I posted about it on my Facebook page).  It was half off all products for an hour.  So of course, it was crazy!  The server was loaded down so badly, that many couldn't place an order.  Luckily, The Balm recognized the problem and extended the sale for a few more hours, while working on their server.  I was online trying to place my order for 2 1/2 hours....I wanted my makeup, DANG IT!! So, this is the first look I created.

Face

Rimmel Fix & Perfect Primer
Cover Girl Clean Whipped Creme Foundation
Revlon Photoready Concealer
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser - Neutralizer
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder
Tarte Mineral Bronze Powder - Hotel Heiress
BH Cosmetics Blush Duo - Iris
Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick - Yummy Plummy 405

Eyes

Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal - Barely Branded (Entire Lid)
The Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude Palette:  Colors Used
-  Matt Singh (Lid)
-  Matt Hung (Crease)
-  Matt Johnson (Outer 1/3 of crease)
-  Matt Malloy ( Browbone & Inner Corner)
Cailyn Gel Eyeliner - Iron (Top Lash Line Only)
Cover Girl Lash Blast Luxe Mascara (pink tube) Black - 3 coats
Maybelline The Rocket Mascara - Black - 1 coat

I use the color tattoo for a base for my shadows to last and keep from creasing.  With any eye look, blending is very important.  I love my E.L.F. Blending Brush (Target, $1).

Daily Bits & Pieces....
-  Last Week was a little rough.  This week is a lot better.  Right after I gave some advice, I had to calm down and remember it myself.  Funny how that happens :)

-  Spent the weekend at a friend's cabin.  We have never done anything like that, and it was so nice and relaxing.

-  Going on a trip to NYC with my mama in 2 weeks.  I started packing today.  Not having all of my things with me, sets me into a panic.  I mean, how can I just pack my beauty essentials and not everything I have?!!  That's stressful!

-  Celebrating my wedding anniversary this weekend....12 years to my best friend, father of my child, love of my life, and greatest man I have ever known.

Health Tip Of The Week - Incorporating Super Foods

We have all heard of super foods, but what are they and why do we need them?
A super food is a nutrient rich food considered to be especially beneficial for health and well being.  They have an unusually high content of antioxidants, vitamins, and other nutrients.  Some of them are:

-  Beans

-  Blueberries

- Tea (black and green)

-  Broccoli

-  Oats

-  Oranges

-  Pumpkin

-  Salmon

-  Spinach

-  Tomatoes

-  Turkey

-  Walnuts

-  Yogurt

-  Eggs

-  Flax

-  Garlic

-  Grapes

-  Kale

Quinoa

These foods are thought to have cancer fighting and anti-aging affects, as well as aid in weight loss.  You should choose organic food as much as possible.  Also, choose wild caught fish over farm raised, when possible.  I know many people may not enjoy some of these foods, but find some different ways to prepare them, that you may like.  When selecting a yogurt, choose all natural and watch your sugars.  I have seen yogurts with almost 20g of sugar, which is craziness!  I am also not a fan of artificial sweeteners, so you could buy an all natural, unsweetened yogurt and sweeten it with real fruit and stevia or truvia.  They are all natural sugar substitutes.

My September Favorites

I enjoyed many products this month.  I didn't purchase anything that I didn't like, but these are the products that I used the most in September and why.....

Batiste Dry Shampoo - For Brunettes
I love this dry shampoo!  So much so, that even when my hair is clean, sometimes I use it for the volume.  It has a nice smell, and doesn't give that white cast to my hair.  I can prolong my wash for several day.  I try to not wash my hair more than 3 times a week at most.  I spray it at the roots, let it sit for a minute or two, then I rub it at the scalp.  The only thing you have to be careful with is your hands after using it (if you use the one for brunettes).  The shampoo has a brown tint, so wash your hands afterwards.  You will even see the brown come out in the shower, when shampooing.  They have a good selection to choose from.  You can purchase at Walgreens, Ulta, some Kroger, and from time to time, I've seen it at TJ Maxx.  They retail for around $8.

Trend Tips Nail Lacquer Sephora By O.P.I
Another product that I'm loving!  I'm so happy I found these.  The first application was tricky.  By the time I did my second application, I had cut my time in half.  It takes some getting used to, but they are beautiful and last for 2 weeks!  They never chipped.  I removed them because I had so much grow out. These are also easy to remove.  Just use regular polish remover.  You can buy these at Sephora.  They retail for $12.

Cover Girl Clean Whipped Creme Makeup
I have been using this foundation for a few weeks.  I have others, but have only grabbed this one.  That says a lot!  It has medium to full coverage with a satin to matte finish.  It is very light weight and long wearing.  Cover Girl did a great job on this one!  It retails for $10 - $12.

MAC Quad - Mystery, Satin Taupe, Soft Brown, and Creme Brûlée
If you aren't familiar with MAC products, this is how it works.  When it comes to eye shadows, except for a few collections that they do throughout the year, you pick your own colors to put in a quad compact or larger compact.  You can get them as singles in a case if you like, as well.  I chose these colors because I just wanted a neutral everyday palette, that I could create many different looks with.  That's exactly what it does, which is why I used it so much.  You can try on your colors before purchasing, which is nice, and the sales associates are usually quite knowledgeable on their products.

Milani Color Statement Lipstick - Nude Creme
This is a great year round lipstick.  I don't like all nudes, and a lot of lipsticks that claim to be nude really aren't.  This one isn't too pink or too brown.  It doesn't wash you out or make you look dead.  I grabbed it so much this month.  I have liked every lipstick that I have tried from this line.  They retail for $5.50.

Live Love Dew Sheer Dew Face Cream, Intense Dew Face Cream & Hydrodew Eye Cream.
I have used these every single day and night since I got them.  I love them!  They feel so good on the skin.  I actually take my makeup off earlier, just so I can put these on!  I use the sheer dew in the morning, under my makeup, along with the Hydrodew Eye Cream.  I use the Intense Dew and Hydrodew Eye Cream after my nightly skin care routine.  They can be purchased at livelovedew.com.  They retail for $15 a piece.  I did a full review on these at http://yourbeautyplace.blogspot.com/2013/09/review-live-love-dew-hydrodew-eye-cream.html and http://yourbeautyplace.blogspot.com/2013/08/review-live-love-dew-whole-natural-skin.html

Nivea Lip Butter - Raspberry Rose Kiss
My lips tend to get dry pretty easily.  I wanted a moisturizing balm that wasn't waxy like a chapstick.  I really like the moisturizer that this lip butter provides.  I have been using it every night before bed, and under my lipstick.  It makes my lips feel and look so much better.  These retail for $2.99.
