Recipe Of The Week - Crockpot Apple Crisp

I know that many people are on diet plans for the new year.  Many of you may be missing your sweets, so here is a lower calorie and lower fat crockpot dessert.  Put this on in the afternoon, and your after dinner dessert will be ready and waiting.


6 cups cooking apples, peeled, cored, and sliced

1/2 cup dry quick oatmeal

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup flour (unbleached, whole wheat flour is best)

2 Tbsp. Butter

1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Place apples in slow cooker, sprayed with nonfat cooking spray.  Combine remaining ingredients in a mixing bowl until crumbly.  Sprinkle mixture over apples.  Cover cook on low for 4 hours or on high for 2 hours.

*Per Serving:  260 calories (40 from fat), 4.5g fat, 55mg sodium, 53g total carbohydrates, 3g protein
